'We empower ALL students to succeed.'

Families were asked to set a goal for FSG Elementary for the 2014-2015 school year.  Here are a few of the goals set by FSG families:

*To make sure each child meets all his/her own goals to get to the next grade.

*Teach tools needed to succeed and move on to the middle school.

*To provide the best educational environment possible by emphasizing the word 'ALL' in the FSG mission statement...

*To see our child progress proficiently in all courses offered.

*Help teach the students to respect one another.

*Maximum learning in a structured, nurturing environment. Zero tolerance for bullying...

*Build a close relationship with our child's teachers.

*Working together as a family to be productive and make this a good year!

*For teachers to believe in all their students and encourage them to succeed in school!

*To learn as much as possible in a safe and happy environment.

*Emphasizing independence and reinforcing confidence in abilities, both academically and socially.

These are just a few of many great suggestions for a great school year.  Thank you to everyone who gave their input!

ANSWER:  No.  Each classroom has toys for the children to use during recess time.  There is no need for your child to bring toys, of any kind, to school, unless it is part of a project his/her classroom is doing.   We have had a couple of children bring play guns to school to use during recess.  No one was ever in danger at any time, however, this is not a toy that belongs in school.   ( Refer to handbook under Weapons)  It is the parents/guardians responsibility to make sure that the backpack is checked each morning before your child walks out the door.  As the adult, you need to make sure that your child's education does not have any distractions to prevent learning from taking place.   Thank you for your cooperation and help in this matter.
